We started picking strawberries again. Despite major thinning and weeding they grew back and over their walls this year. I guess babies aren't supposed to have strawberries till they are 1? I remember something like that. Willow grabbed one out of the container I was holding when I went to pick her up and I let her have just one. She loves them of course so I had to curtail her second lunge for another berry.

I feel like a bit of a gardening failure this year. I haven't been able to get much planted or weeded. We have strawberries, broccoli, lettuce, tomatoes and 2 cucumber so far. Oh and I planted a canteloupe and only a few green beans came up. Our peas are way down too. It's been hard with two girls out there on the loose. I like to buy local peas and green beans to add to our own every year so I will just buy a few more. Maybe the extra eggs and selling them would pay for extra produce? Or I could trade too. We also have our asian pear, bartlett pear and two peach trees. I don't know if our persimmon is ever going to fruit. Maybe this year we will see.
